Virtuemart PayPal Credit formerly Bill Me Later PayPal Credit is now Included as part of our PayPal Express plugin. This allows customers to make purchases using interest free credit. It is available for eligible US and UK merchants. No other counries are supported at present. Plugin Setup Just set the plugin up as normal and set the "Enable PayPal Credit" option to "Yes" in the Virtuemart Section of the PayPal Express setup.  This causes the Express plugin to set the PayPal variable USERSELECTEDFUNDINGSOURCE to BML This is sent to the PayPal servers and sets up the additional funding option for the customer. BML stands for "Bill Me Later" which was the previous name for PayPal Credit. After the customer checksout from Virtuemart and connects to the PayPal payment server,
they are given an option to apply for PayPal Credit.
First time users of PayPal credit are shown the screen below. The extact page shown varies from country to country. The example below is seen by UK customers.  If they do, then it is added to their payment options in the PayPal account.  If selected by the customer then as far as the merchant is concerned they can treat this as a normal PayPal payment, with funds paid directly in to the merchant's PayPal business account. The Express plugin shows its usual payment successful screen on completion of a transaction. The merchant is not told the customer has paid by credit, nor do they need to know as any credit agreement is between the customer and PayPal.  |
